This Murano fish was made in the sommerso technique.
The fins and outer edge are a very rich amber.
The inner body is deep green spots over a gold mica core.
Lovely millefiori applied eyes.
It sits on an amber twisted base.
It still has a Murano label which reads Made in Murano Italy and there is also remnants of another label which is faded but we believe this may well have been a J.I.CO label with a gondola on it, J.I.CO were/are a US import company who imported high quality glass pieces from Murano in the 50-60s.
The fish is in excellent condition, though there is a rough spot on the lower back fin allmost a ridge this is most likely a tooling mark from time of manufacture as it is not sharp or flakey.
