Murano Art Glass - Reflective, Dazzling, Joyful and Dramatic!!
I have been a Murano glass collector for a number of years and I can tell you that finding great items to add to your collection is getting harder and harder to do. Pieces get broken every day around the world leaving less AUTHENTIC vintage pieces available. Having moved to a smaller house I have less space for displaying my collection & due to this I will be listing a few very collectible art glass pieces some being VERY special indeed.
This is a STUNNING piece of Art Glass that is attributed to the Fratelli Toso workshop. This piece is the most stunning organic shape with three crystal clear lobes on the underside. The lobes are great fun as they are all different shapes and sizes adding wildly to the retro factor!!
Here is how its made up
A gorgeous opalescent deep lemon opalescent base with a lovely copper aventurine swirl graduating from the centre all the way out to the rim. Both the upper and underside are cased in crystal clear glass. Add to this 3 crystal clear tabs that sit at the edge of each lobe adding to the retro effect and the magic!!
This is one wild piece. Under the lights it sparkles literally like diamonds! Very very DAZZLING. A great coloured piece to cheer us up on these gloomy winter days!!
In Leslie Pinas Book Fratelli Toso on Page 170 there is a photograph of a similar piece. The estimated value is $200-250 USD. Check out the last pic. It features the same graduated swirl, a Fratelli Toso trademark!!

Height - Just over 5 cm at highest point
Length - A nice 32 cms x 24 wide
Weight - A substantial 1.555 kg
Condition - Excellent. Expected age wear to the base and one rough dot on one of the clear glass lobes from manufacture otherwise MINT!!
