This change is designed to offer a better buying experience by encouraging sellers to be transparent about reserve prices. As a result, buyers will know that any bid has the chance to be successful.
No fee applies when you keep the reserve price equal to the start price, or when listing a car or other vehicle.

29 June - 2:30pm: Text Me SMS Delivery ProblemsWe are currently aware of a problem which is preventing the delivery of Text Me SMS messages over the Vodafone network. Unfortunately this issue is outside of our control.
We are in contact with our SMS provider and are closely monitoring the situation. We will post an update once this problem has been resolved.

5 June - Help protect the kiwiYou can now contribute to saving the kiwi when you sell stuff on Trade Me.
When placing a general listing, you can choose to round up your success fee to the nearest dollar and donate the difference to the Forest & Bird's Kiwis for Kiwi campaign.
Participating auctions display a kiwi icon.

29 May - Queen's Birthday - Payments DelayUnfortunately due to bank closures over the Queen’s Birthday holiday there will be a delay in Internet or phone banking payments appearing on your Trade Me account.
Payments made between 7pm 30 May and Tuesday 3 June will not be processed until Wednesday 4 June.

15 May - Changes to DVDs & moviesWe have made changes to our
DVDs & movies category.
While additional information will now be available for some DVD titles, such as special editions and combo sets, we will no longer carry information for other movies, such as the cast list and synopsis.
11 May - 7:20pm: TelstraClear Email Problem ResolvedThe previous problem with email delivery to TelstraClear customers has been resolved and all email has now been delivered.

11 May - 3:30pm: TelstraClear Based EmailWe are currently experiencing problems with the delivery of email to TelstraClear hosted email domains. These include the clear.net.nz and paradise.net.nz domains.

6 May - Spoof emailThere is currently a spoof email circulating that promotes a competition to register on Trade Me to win cash prizes. This email was not sent by Trade Me and no such competition exists.
