About the author
Ian Freckelton is an Adjunct Professor of Law and of Forensic Medicine at Monash University, an Adjunct Professor of Law and Legal Studies at La Trobe University and an Honorary Professor of Law at Deakin University. Professor Freckleton is the founding editor of the Journal of Law and Medicine and is the Editor-in-Chief of the journal, Psychiatry, Psychology and Law. He is the author and editor of some 30 books on mental health law, therapeutic jurisprudence, medical law, criminal injuries compensation, coronial law, policing, criminal law, sentencing, expert evidence, and causation.
David Ranson, is an Honorary Associate Professor in the Department of Forensic Medicine and of Law at Monash University. He is also an Associate in the Department of Pathology University of Melbourne. Associate Professor Ranson is Deputy Director of the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine.
